Great news! City Council approved the purchase of 34.57 acres of property for a new park!

During my time as a member of the City Council and then as Mayor, I have heard citizens of Eagle continually ask the City to 1) build a park on the west side of Eagle, 2) build a dog park, and 3) build softball and baseball fields for Eagle’s youth.

I am proud to say that after 2 and ½ years of gathering information, searching for the appropriate property, and discussing many committee recommendations on what features and services will be provided, we are ready for the next phase of development.

This purchase is only the beginning of the process. The land is located near Floating Feather Rd and Meridian Rd on the southwest side. We must start with the infrastructure; water lines, sewer lines, streets, and covering the irrigation ditch. The infrastructure enhancements will take time to complete and will need to be in place before the full design of the park will come to fruition.

City Council members will want public feedback for the specifics of the park but, please don’t be fooled, it will take a time commitment and a consensus with many different types of park users, neighbors, and citizens. Nonetheless, I believe that together we can determine what is best for this park and what is best for Eagle.

Please stay tuned for more information on meeting dates and public meetings for the newest park to the city that you and I call HOME.

Stan Ridgeway, Mayor

A one-year supply of orange bags is now available at City Hall for Eagle residents to purchase.
On your regularly scheduled recycle day, the orange bag can be securely tied and placed in the blue bin. The bags will be transported, sorted from the rest of the recycled materials, and sent to the fuel conversion center.

September featured Artists

The Gallery at Eagle City Hall - Kayla Hanson

I was born and raised in Idaho, and I have been passionate about art and the outdoors since I was a kid.  After high school, I wasn’t really into school, so I decided to pursue a creative career in hairdressing.  For the last 14 years I have made a livelihood of creating art with hair as my medium.  About 5 years ago, I rediscovered my love and passion for oil painting and showed my oil paintings at the Western Idaho State Fair, where I was surprised to have received first, and second place ribbons as well as honorable mentions.  After spending so much time and passion on painting, I felt that, the right thing to do was to apply for the art department at Boise State University.  I was accepted, and enrolled in the  fall of 2016, since then, I have grown and learned a lot about myself conceptually, as well as artistically, and it has pushed me out of my comfort zone.  I received a scholarship from the Puget Sound Group NW Artists, and was honored to have three of my oil paintings displayed in their gallery located in Seattle from October to December 2017.  I currently hold a 3.77 GPA, and am focused on receiving a Bachelor of fine arts with an emphasis on drawing and painting from BSU in 2020.  Until then I am striving to continuing to grow and push myself as an artist.

The Gallery at St Luke's Eagle - Tamara H. Doughty

I’m intrigued with the properties of light and it’s interaction with matter. I like to explore how light passes through. bounces off, curves around, or reflects off of objects. Currently I am using various alternative photographic processes, light sensitive materials and 3 dimensional components to manipulate certain properties of light to create images inspired by nature.
The Eagle City Hall Display Case Gallery - Marilyn Berrett Henderson

Marilyn Berrett Henderson lives in Eagle, Idaho with her husband, John. She is a retired teacher and now spends much of her free time painting and gardening, combining both in her floral paintings.
Marilyn appreciates living in her native Idaho for many reasons. There is always an interesting scene to paint, an old friend to meet, or a new friend to share her love of painting.
Marilyn graduated from Roberts High School in Roberts, Idaho, and the University of Idaho with a BA in Secondary Education, continuing her education at Boise State University.
She was Executive Director of the Salmon Arts Council and was the Scholarship Coordinator for the Steele-Reese Foundation in Lemhi and Custer Counties.
Marilyn is a member of the Idaho Watercolor Society and has had several of her paintings selected for their annual juried show. She prefers water color but also does some oil painting. Her watercolor of “Lemhi Winter” was selected for the cover a nation magazine and she has received several awards for her art work at the Western Idaho State Fair.
