Curriculum Night/General PTA Meeting is THIS Thursday!

Curriculum night is this THURSDAY Aug 30th - starting at 6 pm in the cafeteria. There will be a brief General PTA meeting to start. Please come vote on the annual PTA budget (to see a copy go HERE (subject to final revisions before meeting) and meet your PTA Board Member Volunteers. Immediately following, Ms. Taylor will kick off Curriculum night! Classroom visits will begin after the cafeteria portion is done. Curriculum night is an evening for Sagamore parents to come and learn about your child's day and their curriculum in class.

Do you shop at Publix? Do you already have one of those dandy cards on your keychain that the cashier scans at check out that says Sagamore Hills Elementary? Publix is phasing out these cards at the end of September! This is an amazing fundraising resource for the PTA - For every $37,500 spent cumulatively by our school's participants, Publix will award us $250! Over the years, we have earned $16k in money from Publix! We would love to see all our Sagamore Families and Friends sign Sagamore up as their school partner so that we can continue to receive these important funds! Tell your neighbors, aunts and uncles too!
Doing this the new way is easy! Simply sign up for a Publix.com account (if you don’t already have one), select Sagamore Hills Elementary PTA as your school partner and then enter your phone number at checkout and BAM -- $ raised for Sagamore every time you shop! And Psssstt - you can also upload digital coupons to your account this way too that will be applied when you check out with that phone number as well - so you could save yourself some dough in the process! Sagamore mom, Cheri Augustine Flake, LCSW, the Stress Therapist continues to host free parent education nights - Stress Therapy 101. This week on Tuesday, August 28th from 7-8pm, Cheri will present session 2 of her 4 week series - Becoming bilingual: learning the language of your brain. See Here for details!

Sagamore Running Club 2018 to begin!

Sagamore Hills Running Club is on the run! Sagamore Hills Running Club begins Tuesday, August 21st, 7am. The Club will also be running Wednesday’s, starting Wednesday, August 22, 7 am. Meet at basketball court behind the school. We will have a brief stretch, then off to the race around the track! Kids can run, walk, or both! Parents are welcome to stay and join! If it is raining or thundering, there will be no running. Please have your child sign in before he/she begins to run, and again sign out at the end of the run, so we keep an accurate headcount. First Walk to School Day for this school year will be Wednesday September 5th. There are health and well being benefits to joining or starting a walking school bus. If you walk on Wednesday Sept 5th, ask the PTA volunteer near the front door entrance for your well deserved special sticker! Mark your calendars for Emory Cares/Sagamore Building and Grounds Day!

Please join the Sagamore Building and Grounds volunteer team and Emory Student Volunteers in cleaning the front forest and removing invasive plants on Saturday Sept 8th from 9-1. Bring your gloves, clippers and bottled water to stay hydrated!

Fall PTA fundraiser - Community Discount Cards

The PTA is selling Community Discount Cards again this year - its our biggest fundraiser for this school year! We hope every family will consider buying at least 1 card, or sell them to you family and friends! These great cards offer you discounts at many great community places you are sure to already frequent or should! The top 30 sellers that sell a minimum of 10 cards will get to spend an hour in the video game truck during school hours!!
