2018 TxOHC Annual Member Meeting

Please save the date for the Texas Oral Health Coalition's annual member meeting on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Austin, Texas from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

TxOHC members registering before the early bird registration deadline ends September 19, 2018 will enjoy complimentary registration that includes lunch and up to 3.0 CEU's. Registration will open to all on September 20, 2018 and a nominal fee will be charged to cover food and beverage after that date.

Attendees will learn about successful strategies in an informative presentation by Dr. Sean Boynes, DMD, MS regarding interprofessional practice (IPP) integration of oral health into primary care and challenges of rural dental care.

Texas Health Institute's Executive Director Ankit Sanghavi, BDS, MPH will provide new data on hospital utilization and launch a series of reports that will include findings on the data presented.

Local member coalitions and organizational partners are invited to share a brief update about their advocacy efforts and provide a written handout for attendees on their local activities. Least we not forget, the drawing for the TPC Portable Dental Unit donated by Midwest Dental Equipment and Supply will be held during the annual meeting, but members must be present to win.

This webinar will highlight major health disparities among the pediatric, perinatal, and older adult populations in Texas and discuss opportunities for health educators who may serve these populations.

THI Seeking Oral Health Program Director

Texas Health Institute is seeking an exceptional individual to serve as a Director for its Oral Health Program. This position includes providing direction and oversight of the oral health program, including managing personnel, budgets, timelines, deliverables and grant writing. Requires significant experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research. Must have Master’s in Public Health or related health field and 3 to 5 years’ experience. Clinical background and/or experience is preferred. Data analysis experience with SPSS or SAS is preferred.
