Now Hiring - Met Ocean Coordinator
We are looking for the next professional to join our team. We are seeking a Met Ocean Coordinator who will coordinate PHS met ocean activities and work both in the field and office setting. We are seeking a candidate with a degree in Oceanography or related marine discipline, who has the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Candidates who are willing to relocate to Adelaide are seen as an advantage.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Australia and experience with the following is desirable:
- Tide analysis and Gauges
- ADCP and AWAC
- Waves and swell measurements.

Close encounter
The whale migration season occurs from June through to the end of October and is a time when Humpback whales reach their breeding grounds in the warm northern waters, before returning back to the food-rich Southern Ocean. While it has already been proven that multibeam echosounders frequencies do not disturb Humpback whales, this close encounter (as seen below) demonstrates that the world’s largest mammal seemingly enjoyed listening to the sounding instruments!
