Welcome to Startup Digest Galway - the startup news and events calendar for Galway.


Firstly, well done to Galway Technology Centre on the production of a series of videos telling the growth stories of some of GTC's alumni; the start-ups and enterprises who have used the centre as a space to build a team and grow their operations before moving into their own office. The first Autumn Bizmentors Seminars will be held in the Clayton Hotel Ballybrit on Tuesday September 11th at 7.30am. Mr. Karl Lumsden, Agency Lead at Google, will talk about supports for SMEs in today’s digital age. David Noone of Procure Wizard will also present at this breakfast event on the benefits of Bizmentors as he started and scaled his business from SCCUL Enterprise Centre in Ballybane.

EMPOWER brings you the 2nd Empower Explore on Monday 24th September 2018 in Mayo to showcase female entrepreneurs, building a network in the West of female entrepreneurs and inspiring more females to start their own businesses.

LEO Galway offers a range of training courses for small businesses and self starters to include workshops and programmes. Full details on the Training & Events section of the LEO Galway website.

Bord Bia will host a ‘skills workshop’ designed for farmers’ market producers in Westport, County Mayo on Wednesday 26th September from 9 am until 2 pm. A €20 charge per person applies, Further information from Bord Bia website.

The deadline for applications to BioExcel, NUI Galway's medtech accelerator, is Septermber 3rd for the 2018/2019 programme.

Competitive Start Fund (CSF) Call No.56 International Entrepreneurs and Call No.57 Experienced Business Professionals closes on 4th September while the final call of the year No.58 All Sectors opens on 18th September.

Bizmentors Breakfast Seminar (Free)

September 11th 7:30am

The Bizmentors Seminars will return this autumn with the first event to be held in the Clayton Hotel Ballybrit on Tuesday September 11th at 7.30am. Mr. Karl Lumsden, Agency Lead at Google, will be the main speaker. His address will focus on supports for SMEs in today’s digital age. Attendees at the upcoming Breakfast Seminar on September 11th will also hear from Mr. David Noone of Procure Wizard. David is a graduate of the Bizmentors programme. A novel Bizmentors sponsorship initiative is to be launched during the event. Breakfast will be provided following the seminar.
