Dear Praying Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you so much for your generosity and sacrifices to help us gather supplies for Goroka Baptist Bible College. We stand in awe of what God has done the last six months. We were able to be in forty different different churches while back in the States to have Levi. Thank you so much to everyone who hosted us. We were truly blessed to be with you.
The textbooks and Bibles have been ordered for the Bible College. I did not realize what a big project this was until we started ordering textbooks. There are now over 1,600 new Bibles and textbooks along with over 1,000 used Bibles and books on their way to PNG. The books are going by container ship and should arrive in about a year.
Praise God, all five projectors along with three computers have been purchased for the Bible College. We will be taking these with us on the plane. We will now be able to use the forty different PowerPoints of maps, charts, and illustrations we bought a few months ago.
We were also able to order a new commercial printer for the school. Some of you probably remember how the old printer died and was resurrected once before. It is once again almost dead. We are taking the printer and enough cartridges for 175,000 pages (two years supply) on the plane.
October 8th-12th there will be a large men’s outreach in Bena. Please pray for Bill Smith as he leads this effort. There will be many national pastors and other church plants involved in these evangelistic men’s meeting. Please pray as we have the possiable oppurtunity to do some carpentry classes to draw men in. We really want to see some of the men from Sagifa reached through this with the gospel.
We fly out on Friday, August 24th. We have 5 connecting flights with 25 hours of flying time (not counting layover time.) We leave Friday afternoon and arrive Sunday afternoon in PNG. Please pray for Leandra and the children to get some sleep as it will be hard to get everyone to sleep on the plane. Please also pray for all the electronic equipment to arrive safely and clear customs without any fees.
Once again thank you so much for your generosity and sacrifice to make all this possible for the Lord’s work in Papua New Guinea. We are so grateful for your partnership in the gospel. We are praying for you all.
