On February 28th of this year, my father passed into spirit. During his funeral I promised to create a scholarship in his name honoring his legacy as a Speech and Language Pathologist. I was able to tell him about this idea prior to his passing. His usual humble response only confirmed that his memory should be honored in such a way. Fortunately, the University of South Florida was at the ready to assist me in the establishment of this wonderful gift. The scholarship is available to any Florida high school graduate pursuing a bachelor, master or PhD degree in Communication Disorders. Many of you who supported me during this most difficult time expressed interest in donating to this fund. My goal is to make this an endowed (permanent) gift. To that end I have made the initial donation and I have 5 years to make the total donation of 25 thousand dollars. At that amount it will be a gift that will last beyond everyone reading this post. I have included the link below where you can make any donation you may want. My father was a man of service to others and I have followed him in this life long endeavor. This gift to others creates a legacy for my father and entire family of selflessness and service.
