National Recovery Month
September is National Recovery Month. Maine has been experiencing the effects the current opioid epidemic has had within its communities. Last year, 418 people lost their fight with opioid use disorder in Maine. This is a month dedicated to remembering those who've passed but also celebrating those who are in recovery.

There are marches and other events all over the state.
Below is a local rally happening in the Norway/South Paris area!

Since the 1950's when plastic began to be massed produced, "humans have generated 8.3 million metric tons of plastics," and only 9% has been recycled. Due to these massive amounts of plastics being produced, Maine and most of the U.S., are finding it hard to keep up with recycling costs and efforts. Mainers are now using clever methods to reduce or completely eliminate plastic use. This article, "Plastic waste is everywhere. Here are some ideas for Mainers to reduce their use of it." suggests ways you can reduce your plastic use.

How can you reduce your plastic use?

"This year, MANP is inaugurating the Opt In: Nonprofit Communications Conference to support Maine nonprofit staff and volunteers to discover their own best path toward investing in communications, so they can advance strategic goals.
