30 years in Wycliffe

It has been 30 years since Fraser joined Wycliffe, and 24years for Liz. We are honored that so many have sacrificially given, faithfully prayed, patiently encouraged, and even visited us in out-of-the-way places, so that we could be part of this work. Thanks!

Here are a few highlights from the last 30 years:

1990–1992: Fraser surveyed languages in Thailand.
1994: Liz and Fraser were joined in marriage (and Liz joined Wycliffe).
2000: We moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand with Ruth in tow, and Samuel joining us soon after. Fraser led the Linguistics Department at Payap University, teaching future translators and literacy workers.

2002:Pregnancy hormones caused Liz to go into deep depression, and we returned to Dallas in crisis.

It was terrible, but God had prepared us for it, and he sustained us in remarkable ways.

We thought we would be in the US three months, but God had other plans.

2006–2018: Fraser served as SIL training director, developing new courses and helping SIL’s regional training leaders.
Liz taught the kids at home, organized church events, and held down the fort when Fraser traveled.
2018: Fraser stepped down as training director to become the Assistant Director of the SIL LEAD team.

SIL LEAD provides crucial support to Scripture use in large language communities. Check out our 3-minute web presentation, Boosting Literacy to Open God's Word for the Unreached Peoples of the World.
Fraser will start work in SIL LEAD after our team of prayer and financial partners is complete. We are praying for 30 additional people to join us. Do you know someone who should be one of the 30?

Family news

Samuel has a perfect job this summer as our mechanic’s shop hand.
Isaac is a new 9th grader at Duncanville High School (and the school tennis team).
Ann has been working on her artist's sketchbook all summer.
Sarah got to go to summer camp with a local church group.
New to our family: Maua the cat. (Actually, Samuel is her human.)
