Welcoming Rodrigo Hernandez to Vision DBR

Please help us welcome our new professional interior designer, Rodrigo Hernandez. We are excited to have him as a part of our Vision Design Build Remodel team, and we know you will be pleased to work with him as well!

Rodrigo recently graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design and a minor in art. In school he was mostly interested in residential interior design courses. After taking many classes, and his summer internship with Walker Woodworking in 2017, he realized residential interior design was definitely his goal for his future occupation. During his senior year at WCU, he had the honor to be awarded the Rising Star in Interior Design Award by the International Furnishings and Design Association.

Rodrigo’s main responsibility at VDBR is designing all the interiors of our projects. He designs functional spaces that meet our clients’ needs and wants by completing design interviews, specifying materials and finishes, etc.

“Here at Vision Design Build Remodel I am creative and motivated to do my best work,” Rodrigo affirms. “I believe with collaboration, we can conquer any project. My favorite thing about working at VDBR is the work environment. Every day in the office is a good and welcoming day.”

Sherwin-Williams 2019 Colormix Color Trends

With the ever changing design trends, sometimes it is difficult for you to select just the right style and color that will please you when remodeling your home. You desire the look that suits your personality and also will continue to be fashionable as years go by. The annual Sherwin-Williams Colormix Color Forecast assists you in choosing color themes for your home that feel comfortable as well as expressive.

This Summer, Sherwin-Williams announced its 10th annual Colormix Color Forecast. The 42-color master palette is divided into six themes: Shapeshifter, Wanderer, Aficionado, Enthusiast, Naturalist, and Raconteur. These themes are fresh, fluid swipes of color that are key for 2019 color and design trends.

Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams, developed the 2019 color trends along with the Sherwin-Williams Color Forecast team. They identified colors from free-spirited wanderers and old-world storytellers, while drawing inspiration from every corner of the globe and extending even to the cosmos. These color trends are intended to reflect human touch.

“Every color in the Color Forecast, whether alone or when combined with others, tells a different story, a different riddle or different song, similar to the honesty found only in a written journal,” explains Wadden. “Our intent was to ask ourselves, ‘If this palette were a person, what kind of person might they be?’ making it important to bring forth a forecast that is personal and aspiring, yet attainable—how all design should be.”

Shapeshifter

There are those who always seem a little ahead of their time. Visionary and creative, this palette reaches into the cosmos and returns with a whole universe of inspiration. Shapeshifter’s aesthetic is about the mystical, from the deep sea to the galaxy and everything in between and is rooted by strong geometrics and clean lines. (above)

Wanderer

This palette is for the person who will never be fenced in, who needs to soak in the endless horizons and subtle earthy tones of the high plains. Clays, caramels and browns come from canyons to worn leather and woven wool blankets of the true New West. (below left)

Aficionado

Like a bookcase of leather-bound literary classics, this pedigreed palette evokes nostalgia and timeless traditions. Copper and gold anchor merlot and gray. The tailored tones are tasteful, elegant and classic. (above right)

Enthusiast

For those who go against the grain, break the rules or are more free-spirited than the status quo, the Enthusiast palette brings maximum attitude and yet produces harmonious results. The proof is in this palette, which features bold pops of vivid blue, green and red. (below left)

Naturalist

Nature lovers can connect with the wonder of the world in full bloom. This collection’s lush, sophisticated tones poke out from the rainforest as colorful tendrils. Ranging from mushroom to passionate pink, the focus on botanicals is slightly classic, with bold details. (above right)

Raconteur

From ancient rhetoric to today’s on-screen webcasts, there is a desire and appreciation for stories and the storytellers behind them. From Africa to the New World, human origins have been translated into this rich palette that spans time. (right)
