Fires in the Columbia River Gorge, summer 2018, photo by KATU-TV via AP
Summer is coming to an end. It has been an intense one for me. I've gotten a first hand experience of guiding myself through the fires of transformation. Whoo hoo!!

As I type, I wonder how the summer has been for you.
I really do wonder. We should have tea.

Soon I will be out guiding the yearly vision fast at Bear Lake. I'm looking forward to it on so many levels.

This month's newsletter feels like it wants to be brief. Still digesting shifts, and grateful for being burned down to ashes.

My offering to you this month is my September blog, which is about the art of suffering.
It's no small thing, to suffer well. In the end, looking at suffering straight in the face is not depressing, actually, but liberating.
I hope you will read it.

Stillness and breathing deep after a long run,
With love and appreciation for you, dear reader . . .

The Art of Suffering
Remember—don't take yourself too seriously.
