AK Dev Alliance Event #3 - Mike Edgington on Machine Learning

 

Mike Edgington got interested in speech technology at graduate school well before it was cool.

A native of the UK, he later worked in non-profit and commercial research labs in the UK and Silicon Valley, then moved to Boston, joining a series of start ups all of which in turn were acquired by Nuance Communications, the world's largest independent speech and language technology business. Mike moved to Girdwood, Alaska 4 years ago, justified in part by living in a timezone midway between Europe and China. He is the Founder and Principal Engineer of Glacier Creek Technology.

Mike's research and development experience encompasses signal processing, pattern recognition, statistical modelling and machine learning. He has 9 granted patents in speech synthesis, speech recognition and multilingual language technology.
