News Update - August 2018

Hi folks

Can't remember a better summer........but August has seen a number of changes:

Lady Place Farm Kennels - reference PLAN/2018/0786

This is a disturbing proposal for 'change of use' to allow kennels to be operated at Lady Place Farm.  We believe that noisy barking dogs will compromise the setting of St Nicholas Church and the nearby graveyard, both known for their peace and quiet.  Additional traffic leaving/joining Church Hill to/from the farm will also pose a serious traffic hazard at the busiest times of day.

The Forum will object to this application and we invite all those who appreciate the area around our 12th century St Nicholas Church to do likewise.  Objections may be submitted online, by letter or email to the case officer at developmentmanagement@woking.gov.uk by 21 August 2018.

West Byfleet Traffic Lights

Everyone a winner - mayhem unlimited!!!  So the story is that work is being done to extend the control infrastructure of the lights in the middle of West Byfleet.  This is necessary so that they can be upgraded to cope with the demands of a new signal system linking all the lights from the Marist School to the M25 bridge.  This will be essential when Broadoaks completes and probably means we'll be hit with the same congestion again when they finish the job in 2 or 3 years time!

Power Station for West Byfleet

This application has been withdrawn pending reconsideration of proposal details.  Round 1 to all those who objected but it may still be a long fight.

WBC Development Proposals - Upshot Lane/Green Belt

We expect new proposals to be formally discussed and published in September.  This would suggest the final Regulation 19 consultation in October/November with a public hearing some time after April 2019.
