Volunteer of the Month - July
The July Volunteer of the Month is actually 2 people! Bryan McMeikan and Aidan Hiland. Together Bryan and Aidan have taken responsibility for keeping the ground marking in good condition. Bryan Looks after the Woman's marking and Aidan the Men's Markings.
After a year away from the club Aidan has come back with a real desire to help the club out in any way he could. Unfortunately due to injury he cannot play this year but has taken on the role of Defense coach for Division 2. Additionally he has taken on the role of ensuring that the Men's markings remain clear. This involves Aidan regularly marking out the grounds in daylight when they are not being used. He also needs to 'walk' the line marker between Dorothy Laver Reserve and Eric Raven. We could not play on Saturdays if Aidan did not regularly refresh the lines. His efforts are appreciated.
Bryan is the parent of Mikayla, one of our Under 13 girls. When the call went out for help, Bryan answered. After he was shown how to use the line marker he took on the responsibility to mark out the Women's specific lines and fans whenever we had women's games and ensure that the lines were up to standard. This was done in a contrasting colour to reduce confusion. Bryan has done a fantastic job, often in early hours and/or adverse weather conditions. We really appreciated his time and effort to ensure that Sunday games can take place.
2018 Dorothy Laver Reserve West Season Finale
A day of girls/women's lacrosse at Dorothy Laver to close out the regular season:
- 9:00am - Under 13 Girls: Camberwell v Eastside
- 10:15am - Under 15 Girls: Camberwell v Eastside
- 11:30am - Under 17 Girls: Eastside v Williamstown Women
- 1:15pm - Division 1 Women: Camberwell v Altona
- 3:15pm - Premier League Women: Eastside v Surrey Park
- 5:00pm - President's report, match results, drinks
Please note: this will be the last game of the season at Dorothy Laver Reserve West: Mens Div 2, State League and U17 play the following week - but elsewhere.
