Healthwatch Wandsworth Assembly – 19 September

We've already begun planning our next Healthwatch Assembly and this time we’ll be looking into ways that healthcare professionals can more effectively listen to what we need and involve us in decisions about how we manage our health and care.

What’s on our agenda?
  • Local experiences of how being listened to and involved in making decisions about care can make a difference to health outcomes
  • If something happens that you are concerned about, how you can you give feedback, raise concerns or make a complaint (we’ll hear some local experiences)
  • Where to go for further support and advocacy for a complaint
  • What happens once a concern or complaint is raised re social care.
A copy of the full agenda can be found here.

The Assembly will be held at Battersea Mission, 20-22 York Rd, London, SW11 3QJ (a 5 minute walk from Clapham Junction train station; 44 bus drops you right outside) from 10.30am until 1.30pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, so please let us know if you plan to come along.

To book a place, either email
enquiries@healthwatchwandsworth.co.uk or call 020 8516 7767. We'd love to see you.

Can’t make it this time?
Our last Assembly of the year is scheduled to take place on the 12 December in the Hyde Park room at St George’s Hospital in Tooting. We’ll have more information on the agenda nearer the time. Keep checking

Could you Volunteer for Healthwatch Wandsworth?

Our volunteers are vitally important to our work and to making sure local people have an opportunity to influence the delivery and design of local services.

We are currently recruiting for the following volunteer roles: Represent us on committees, boards and working groups and make sure that local people are heard and represented when decisions or changes are made to local services.  Visit NHS and council funded health and social care services, and report back on what service users and staff tell us.  Help us with our day to day operations and with demanding administrative tasks as the need arises.

If you are interested, further details about the roles and an application form are available on our website (https://www.healthwatchwandsworth.co.uk/content/volunteer-us) or you can contact us for a hard copy. If you wish to apply, please send a covering letter and application form detailing any relevant experience you have (please include a CV if you have one).

The deadline for applications is Friday 31st August. We would like to meet successful applicants for an informal interview on either the 11th or 13th September.
