We Need Volunteers

With the annual art show coming up in October, we need volunteers to help make the Show a success, but more than that the OAA needs help from its members in other ways as well, so this is a plea for you to take a more active role.

We currently do not have a publicity director, a trip director, or a hospitality director. 

The publicity director interfaces with the organizers of our events like the Annual Art Show and Open Studios, organizes the printing of posters and postcards, and produces the bi-monthly column for the Oakmont News. 

The trip director organizes two trips a year, usually to the San Francisco art museums, and charters a bus for this.  For members, and particularly those members who cannot get around easily, the trips are an enjoyable way to see current exhibitions. 

The hospitality director organizes with helpers the food and drinks for those events that need them.

Please consider helping us with these tasks.  If you have a friend who would be a co-director with you that would be an easy way of sharing the tasks.  If the thought of what these jobs need is overwhelming, we have clear job descriptions for each of them, and for some of them we even have time lines to follow.

You can see the various volunteer tasks for the Annual Art Show on October 12 and 13 by downloading the volunteer signup form below.  Each of these tasks only require an hour or two of your time, yet make a significant contribution to the success of the show.
