Invitation to Worship
Sometimes when I’m longing for a familiar meal, I will call my mother to ask for a recipe for something she made for us when I was younger. Often she’ll dictate the instructions to me from memory. A pound of this, a half a cup of that, and a bit of such and stuff. I stop her: “Mom, how much is a bit?” Sometimes she offers a maddening response: “just use enough.”
What in the world is enough? How do I know when I’ve reached that mysterious marker? Will things be ruined if I have too much, or too little? As we continue with our “God’s Economy” series, this week we will talk about how we experience scarcity, abundance, and how we might ever simply have enough. I hope you’ll join us this Sunday at 5 p.m.!
Grace and Peace,
Rev. Jasper Peters
