Fire Hazard Abatement Work
CEPOA was represented at the Los Osos Fire Focus Group meeting on August 13th, 2018 and got an update on the 2018 grants status. As part of the grant, Cabrillo Estates will get 6 man days of debris clearing along Rodman in the eucalyptus trees in the same area that was cleaned in 2012. Getting the 2018 Grant is the good news! The money will be dispersed to CalFire about December 2018 and work will begin shortly thereafter.
Sign the Petition
We are working to secure a similar fire hazard abatement grant for 2019. A petition was available at the annual meeting. If you have not signed it, please stop by 260 San Jacinto Drive by August 21. Emergency Preparedness/Response Meeting

Fire Safe Meeting
"Fire Safe Los Osos" will be the topic of a public meeting on August 20, 7 to 8:30 PM, in the fire safety training room, 888 Manzanita Drive (in the former Sunnyside Elementary School building). Scheduled speakers include:
- Cal Fire (Host)
- Fire Safe Council
- Community Emergency Response Team
- County Sheriff
- California Highway Patrol’
- California Department of Fish and Wildlife
