I'm the mother of two boys, one in eighth grade and one former Hilburn Hawk who is now at Sanderson High School. This is my sixth year as a Hilburn parent and I'm an advocate for our school's foreign language program.

Membership Committee
We need a Membership Committee Chair and others who want to help with our PTA membership. Members are Hilburn parents, Hilburn teachers and staff, and the Hilburn community. If you are one of them, we need your help to recruit and sign up members and promote membership! PTA is the largest advocacy group for public education. Members of Hilburn PTA are also members of North Carolina PTA and National PTA. If you are interested in volunteering, email PTA President Julie Rivera at hilburnptapresident@gmail.com.

Meet the Teacher Open House for 1st through 8th grades: Thursday, August 23.
Schedule:
ID-Mod I-II, Special Programs PreK: 3 p.m.
1st through 5th grades: 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
6th through 8th grades: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Hawkapalooza for 6th graders: Friday, August 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Parents may drop off their 6th graders and come back at 11 a.m. Students should bring a combination lock with a combination that you already know and can remember easily, and $5 for Kona Ice.
