Advancing Women in the Workplace One Conversation at a Time
Conversation Quick Starters. Advancing women in the workplace one conversation at a time. Y Women Corporate Gender Consulting. Jeffery Tobias Halter

Can We Talk?

I'm often asked for quick, easy tips for leading an effective staff meeting discussion regarding gender and women’s leadership topics. This month, we're providing our readers with a "staff meeting in a box." Simply have your team watch watch these videos, ask the questions and let the discussion unfold.

It's really that easy!

The main objective of this tool is to start conversation. The dialogue may be unexpected and at times challenging, but the exchange is important to uncover obstacles to advancing the women's leadership imperative at your company.

Thank you for starting the conversations. Let me know how it goes!

Let's Talk about Gender

The above videos, #EvolvetheDefinition of "masculine" and Leading Lady Parts, illustrate how both men and women can be "put in a box" regarding who they are "supposed" to be and how they are "supposed" to act. We know that gender differences and biases exist, but they are rarely openly acknowledged and evaluated for their impact on the business.
QUESTIONS:
  • How can you use these films to talk about the different experiences men and women are having in your organization?
  • How could addressing hidden gender biases impact your ability to achieve gender equity in your workforce?
  • How is eliminating gender bias discussed at your company with regard to: 1) job interviews/talent acquisition, 2) succession planning and 3) performance management?
