Fall Family Conferences
We hope you are enjoying summer break. We are busy getting ready for the start of a new school year in the fall and the arrival of students. We have made some important changes to the start of the 2018-2019 school year that we are excited to share with you.
Family conferences will replace the traditional Back-to-School Open House on August 28th and will also be offered on September 4th during the school day. The advisory teacher will be available to meet the parents of each child and this time will be used to get to know them prior to the start of the school year. Because we are getting to know the student, we ask that they be present in these goal-setting conferences if possible.
The window to begin scheduling these conferences will open on August 1st at 8:00am in Skyward. The Skyward family link and instructions on how to schedule a family conference can be located on South’s webpage.
All parents will meet with their child’s Advisory teacher for a 15-minute scheduled conference to better understand their child’s strengths and needs, set learning goals for the upcoming year, and learn important information about the school.
The computer labs will be open at South on Tuesday, August 21st from 10:30am to 1:30pm to assist with any difficulties in accessing Skyward. Please enter door 1 and computers and help will be provided in the Media Center.
Also to clarify, all 6th graders will have school on September 4th. They will have an orientation program in the morning and be with their teachers in the afternoon. Students in grades 7 & 8 will not have school on Tuesday, September 4th, but will start school on Wednesday, September 5th.

WEB Crew 2018-19
If you are a member of the WEB Crew for the 2018-19 school year, remember we have an all group orientation on Wednesday, August 22nd from 8:30am-4:00pm. We will meet in the cafeteria and lunch will be provided.
