Lifeline's DV-alert (Domestic and Family Violence Response Training) is a national recognised training program that enables health, allied health and front-line workers supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to confidently:

3) Refer affected individuals and families to relevant support services

Core Concepts in Working with Children and Adolescents from Refugee Backgrounds

Tuesday, 4 September 2018 | 9:30am - 4:30pm | $240 / $149 concession

This one-day introductory workshop has the same structure as the “Core Concepts in Working with People from Refugee Backgrounds” workshop (it is not necessary to do both) but focuses on providing a framework for understanding the unique issues and challenges faced by children and adolescents from refugee backgrounds. It will look at the impact of war and violence from a developmental perspective, with attention paid to attachment and resilience.

MACA Media Awards 2018

The MACA Media Awards seek to challenge negative stereotypes towards older people by highlighting examples of balanced and realistic media reporting on older people and ageing. 

By holding up media reports that demonstrate that there is more to ageing than becoming old, the Awards program aims to improve public perceptions of older people. 

Nominations for the MACA Media Awards 2018 are open. Nominations can be made until 4:00pm on Friday, 31 August 2018.

2018 Local Health Needs Community Survey Results

In June 2018 North Coast Primary Health Network (NCPHN) ran Speak Up, a community survey asking locals for their experience with local health services. Over 3,300 locals completed the survey, offering valuable and unique information about accessibility, health challenges, health service providers and service quality across the North Coast.

We would like to share the survey findings and insights with the public in four free events over morning tea. Presentations will be held in the locations and dates below.

We welcome all community members and health professionals to these free events. Please RSVP your attendance to an event close to you by clicking on the relevant location.
