Offset adjustments for GrainSense

Supporting 2018 harvest

We have been working hard to measure and adjust GrainSense to the new harvest in all supported countries. GrainSense, as all NIR devices, must be annually adjusted to provide the best possible results.
For 2018 GrainSense supports wheat, barley, oat, rye and rapeseed for the most used commercial varieties.

We will separately inform the registered users when country specific offset adjustments have been released.

Updating adjusted calibrations to the device

After we release a new offset adjustment, you can easily upload it to the device by opening the mobile application and connecting to the device. The application will automatically upload the new settings when the connection is made. Just make sure you have an internet connection in the phone.

How to interpret the results

GrainSense device is adjusted to match an accredited laboratory in your country. You can expect in most cases to be within 0,4 % (example for wheat protein) from the representative laboratory result. In some cases, the difference can be bigger as the annual offset is a compromise of the regional environmental differences, and both GrainSense and a laboratory device have an error margin.
You can improve the confidence by measuring multiple samples and averaging the results using the GrainSense application.
