Announcements & News - 9/3/18

Hi IHS '64 Classmates,

In BR we are under a tropical storm watch this week - YUK!!  That typically means a lot of rain.  We shall wait and see.  In the meantime, we are ready for football season as we celebrate our Labor Day Weekend.

We've had our first reunion committee meeting and have decided to do some more research on available venues as the Holiday Inn is under new ownership and prices have gone up.  We expected some increase but want to do some comparison shopping,  so the committee members have some "homework" tasks to work on before we meet again next week.  We will keep everyone posted as soon as the decision is made and a contract is signed.

In the meantime, there is some homework that ALL classmates can do.  PLEASE use the website form  ihs1964.com/directory_form.html  OR email Lydia ihs64@yahoo.com  with ANY changes or updates of your demographic information such as a change of address, phone number and especially your e-mail address.  We do hope to do most communication by e-mail.  Also, if you are in contact with any other classmates, ask them to do the same.

We still do not have e-mail addresses for  a considerable number of classmates. We also still have classmates that we do not have contact information,  so please look over the "Missing List" at
ihs1964.com/class.html  and see if you know the contact information for any of them OR if you will contact them and ask them to send their information to us.  We want to try and reach everyone.  At the 50th reunion, we had some people who had NEVER attended a reunion or had only attended   one.  Their comments included that they had no idea what they had been missing.  All the high school drama is GONE and people just enjoy reconnecting with "old" friends and reminiscing about our youth, our neighborhoods, our schooling experiences  and the "good old days" -- or were they good??  That's an individual opinion!

The Baton Rouge luncheon will be this Saturday, September 8th at 11:30 at Drusilla Seafood Restaurant at the corner of Jefferson Highway and Drusilla Lane.  We hope to see many of you.

Class Directories - Some of you who did not get to attend the 50th Reunion have been able to talk to others who did -- and get your class directory if you want a hard copy.  To download a copy from our new password protected page on our website, go to ihs1964.com/class/class-pass.html and enter User Name indians and Password teepee1964 to see the actual page. Keep them in a place where you'll remember.

Send us your data for our database

We  published a 50th Reunion Booklet that was given out to everyone at the July event and wanted to include as many listings as possible. If you weren't listed or want to change data - addresses, phone numbers, family info, and what you've been doing.  Many of you have been contacted recently via phone or email by the Reunion Committee and we have up to date reports.  However, there area a lot of folks with old data on file, so if you haven't already done so, please send us your data using our convenient new online form or the traditional printed "snail mail" version.  We would hope that most folks will use the online form since it reduces the amount of typing the committee volunteers have to do!

Visit the 50th Reunion Page  http://ihs1964.com/register.html

Missing Indians

We've maintained and updated the classmates list from our 45th reunion and will use it and recent information to keep our database current. A list of "Missing Indians" has been posted and will be updated each week as we find people and move them to the "found" list. With just a few months left, we'll need help from volunteers. Please help us find the missing classmates and faculty members.

Send photos and news

In case you haven't visited our Gallery Pages, there are many photos there that classmates have scanned and emailed to us for everyone to see.  Send us your photos along with captions.  Scan at 300 dpi or less to keep the size down.  Send to ihs1964@yahoo.com  .

Everyone likes to read news about their friends from school, especially if they are out of touch or far away. So, send us news to include on our website.  Just email to ihs1964@yahoo.com .
