The Hon Steven Ciobo MP was sworn in as Australia’s new Minister for Defence Industry on 28 August. Mr Ciobo was previously responsible for the trade, tourism and investment portfolio.

The Hon Christopher Pyne MP, who has served in the defence industry role for the past two years, has been appointed Minister for Defence. Senator David Fawcett has been appointed Assistant Minister for Defence, and the Hon Darren Chester MP retains his existing ministerial responsibilities as Minister for Defence Personnel, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Centenary of ANZAC.
