The Parent Faculty Club (PFC) is our school’s parent teacher organization. We’re all members, and there are no membership fees. We discuss various issues about the school and the budget every month. This is where your voice can be heard! We’d love to see you at our first meeting of the year, so mark your calendars. As always, childcare is provided.

Reminder: Please Complete Important Forms

DUE ASAP: Each student has received a set of forms including an emergency card, field trip permission, the school’s cell phone policy, and a form for school lunches. Please fill these out and return them to your classroom teacher or the office. Room parents group can't be created until the emergency cards have been completed.
DUE 9/27: The school lunch form is also available online at SchoolCafe.com a new system that combines an application for free or reduced-price lunch with the Multipurpose Family Income Form, and SFUSD requires all families to fill it out whether planning on using the lunch program or not.
Please note:
- Please apply for the eligibility benefits even if you don’t qualify—it’s required to complete the process. You only need to fill out one application per family
- HMCRA is listed under Milk, Harvey in the list of SFUSD schools.
- You can find your student’s ID number on his or her last report card and Ms. Antonae in the office can also provide student ID numbers.

Room Parent Orientation
Tuesday, September 25, 5:30-6:30pm
The Room Parents have a critical role in the school community by keeping parents informed about what is happening in the classroom and helping to provide the teacher with the support he or she needs. Read more about being a room parent and the committees goals here. There needs to be at least one volunteer per classroom. If you are interested in being your class room parent please email roomparents@harveymilk.com.

We’re excited to kick off the Annual Giving Campaign, the PFC's biggest fundraiser of the year! Help us reach our goal of 100% family participation and $175,000 by December 31. Funds raised by the Annual Giving Campaign pay for art and music enrichment, field trips, and essential school staff, including a classroom teacher and a reading specialist. And—new for this year—your donations will also support science classes at Mission Science Workshop and tech education by Ms. Sarah!

Family Potluck - An HMCRA Tradition!

It has been a long time Harvey Milk tradition that all families come together and get to know each other a little bit better... And what better way to get to know one another, but by sharing food: your families favorite food(dish) whatever it may be! Sign up here to help make this HMCRA tradition a success!
And if you want to kick the celebration up a notch: perform a dance for us or come dressed in traditional clothes that represent your heritage - let's really celebrate how beautifully diverse our school is! Just a remember - NO NUTS please. ;)

Morning Circle is at 9:30am. This is our outside classroom that begins our learning each day. Parents are welcome to join us! A reminder this is part of the school day and is not options for the students, please be on time!
Most classrooms have morning snack around 11:00.
Morning recess:
10:55am for grades K-1
11:15am for grades 2-3
11:35am for grades 4-5.
Lunch:
12:40pm for K-1
1:05pm for grades 2-3
1:30pm for grades 4-5.
Our school day is 9:30am – 3:35pm, with Early Dismissals taking place at 2:45pm EVERY Monday. The After School Program runs 3:35-6:30pm (2:45-6:30pm on Mondays).

Welcome to this year's Broadway Night Out Fundraisers - a great opportunity for our school community to experience professional theater at discounted prices.
This year's shows include Miss Saigon, Waitress, Come From Away, Hello Dolly, Falsettos, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and maybe even Hamilton!
Tickets are available NOW for Miss Saigon (Thursday, October 25, 7:30pm, Orpheum Theater) and Waitress (Thursday, November 8, 8pm, Golden Gate Theater). Mezzanine tickets for each show are $47, with $10 going back to HMCRA (tickets are over $100 each if purchased through SHN). Quantities are limited, so order early. Deadline to order is Friday, September 14 - but be aware, they may sell out before then!
