Message From the President
Welcome to a new school year at DSE! Over the past three years our school has experienced a lot of change in our enrollment but one thing hasn’t changed and that is the quality of staff at our school and the passion of our parents in making this school the best school it can be! I walk through the hallways of our school and see the kids smiling faces, the bright colors and teachers that choose to spend long days with our children hoping to instill leadership in each one of them so one day they can face the world. Our PTA is a great way to help support our kids, our teachers and one another so we can make sure that our child’s school is a place that they are excited to go each day. Every person can make a difference and we appreciate every hour of volunteering the school receives and every dollar donated. If you have either an hour or a dollar to give – we hope you will consider the PTA. In the past 3 years we have raised over $120,000 to replace TWO playgrounds on our campus and continue to fund enrichment programs and replace equipment that benefits our children. Fredericksburg Farm Fundraiser This Thursday, a Fredericksburg Farms fundraising catalog will come home in Thursday folders. We are excited to offer this first time fundraising opportunity as we can help support our school by with a 40% profit from all purchases and also support local Texas products! The fundraiser will only run 2 weeks and you can order online and through the catalog. We appreciate your support!
REFLECTIONS ART PROGRAM Reflections is a National PTA program that encourages students in preschool through grade 12 to create and submit works of art in six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts. Students may gain local, district and state recognition. Download your reflections entry form here. The pdf is fillable, so please fill it out, print it off and submit to the front office at DSE! WatchDOGS
Who are Watch DOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator. Join us Sunday, September 16th meeting, 4-5pm in the DSE Cafeteria for information and sign ups. If you have questions prior to the meeting, you can contact the coordinator HERE.

BOX TOPSMaking a Difference for Our School ~ Our goal: $3,500 (35,000 Box Tops) Please clip Box Tops- Each Box Top is worth .10 for our school. This money goes straight to the PTA to help with various items and programs throughout the year. Dates must be readable and not expired or we do not receive credit. Box Tops can be found on hundreds of quality products from brands like *General Mills *Pillsbury *Betty Crocker *Ziploc *Kleenex *Hefty and more.
This year we are continuing with our reward system for Box Tops. We will keep totals for each class during the year and when a class reaches the number of box tops below, that class will win the corresponding reward and house points too. Please place box tops in the bin located outside the cafeteria. Box tops should be placed in a Ziploc baggie with the name of your child's teacher and grade.
• 500 Box Tops = Extra Recess + 25 House Points
• 1000 Box Tops = Prize Box + 50 House Points
• 2000 Box Tops = Extra Recess + 75 House Points
• 2,500 Box Tops = Extra Recess and Treat + 100 House Points
• 3,000 Box Tops = Pajama Day and Treat + 125 House Points
• 3,500 Box Tops= Pizza or Ice Cream Party + 150 House Points
Join us on October 13th, 2018 for OCTOBERFEST at Dripping Springs Elementary, a fun day of games and community fun. All proceeds from the Fair go to the wonderful PTA enrichment programs for all students at DSE. Our goal is to raise $20,000.00+ to continue supporting our teachers and students in the areas of science, math, art, music, health and literacy.
We hope you and your whole family will join us for our 22nd year of games, a rock wall, petting zoo, confetti eggs, inflatables, food, fun and much more! Of course, we will have the ever-popular Class Basket Opportunities and silent auctions.
Announcement about class baskets will be made by coordinators soon, start thinking about the type of basket your class may want to create!
Planning meetings for the festival have been scheduled. Please come to the PTA room on the following days to help in the planning of this years festival!
