USMWF's

BEAT THE HEAT

Thank you to all that donated to USMWF's Beat the Heat Campaign.  On August 30, 2018 we were honored to give insulated bottles, cold water and fliers with important information regarding symptoms and first aid to know and understand when working in the heat to 20 workers.

A special thank you to OHS Solutions and Ms. Gloria Sarmiento with  Nebraska Appleseed for joining and assisting us in making our first Beat The Heat a great success and reaching out and educating many workers of the importance of workplace safety when working in hazardous heat.

This marked our first Beat the Heat Campaign and we hope to continue our campaign and will host USMWF's 2nd Beat the Heat Campaign in May of 2019 and hope to protect and educate more workers of safety while working in the heat.

THE OTHER-SIDE....

On August 22, 2018 an article (linked below) was brought to our attention .  Many USMWF families voiced their concerns and expressed the importance of continued OSHA press releases and they should include citations and penalties.

USMWF Family Member Sandi Wisley stated,  "Simple fact is those who think the companies deserve to be coddled for being irresponsible and contributing to their employees death is what is shameful. A company who especially has repeated deaths on their watch most certainly deserves to be called out by name."

"It infuriates me that the companies some how seem to become the victim when in fact they are in these case the predators."

Families have a strong desire to ensure no one endures a loss like the one they have, there is only one way to achieve this, and that is through acknowledgment, understanding, and education. The fact is that sadly, there are over 14 workers lost each day due to a work related incident many of them not reaching the medias attention.

We are proud of USMWF's family members for speaking out and sharing their story that is the other side of every workplace incident.
