Mayor of Strasbourg to speak at Engage 2018 seminar series

This year’s theme: “WHS Cities of Inspiration”

With Liverpool’s World Heritage Site status intact for another year, how can the city can make the best use of its UNESCO inscription, to benefit development, civic design, tourism, economic and cultural regeneration?

This is the question we aim to answer in our 2018 seminar series, for which we have invited three European WHS cities to come and share how they have used their UNESCO status to promote and develop their city.

Young Heritage Champions excited about Urbingo project

Speaking of World Heritage – last month, we were excited to get the thumbs up for our prototype Urbingo game, from Liverpool’s Young Heritage Champions.

The group, spearheaded by Liverpool City Council’s Mayoral Lead for Heritage, Cllr Alice Bennett, aims to give young people a greater appreciation of Liverpool’s rich heritage, and inspire them to think about how it can be preserved and engaged with by future generations.

Read about the Young Heritage Champions online, or visit our Urbingo project pages for more.

Event: Ed’s Place

Our friends at PLACED are hosting a series of pop-up events at the old George Henry Lees building on Houghton Street, throughout September, in an effort to get people thinking imaginatively about how our city centre can be a better place for everyone.

Almost all the events are free, but we highly encourage you to book ahead. Check out the schedule, and reserve a place, on their website.

Pier Head Village:
What are your thoughts?

Valuable tourist attraction, or tacky eyesore on a presigious site? The Pier Head Village has split opinion, and as its 3-year contract reaches an end, we invite you to let us know your thoughts on whether it should return in 2019.

Phew! You made it to the end…

Have you booked your ticket yet for our 3rd October “Cities of Inspiration” seminar? No? Time to sort that out!
