Luke Buescher Uganda

Dear Friends and Family,
I pray this letter finds you abiding in the love and joy of our Savior.

I apologizes for not getting my update out on time for August. the last two moths have been good, and busy. In the Bible school we've rolled though Matthew, Luke, and the book of Acts, in the first class, and the rest of Genesis, and Exodus in the second class.
As part of our study through exodus, we built a makeshift tabernacle which the pastors walked through seeing how Jesus was the fulfillment of every element.
Part of what I have been doing lately is taking a weekend a month to visit the pastors from our school in their churches. So far, I have had the opportunity to visit two churches. The first is Calvary Chapel Kitgum, which is about two hours north of Gulu and pastored by two of our students, Pastor Peter, and his Assistant Pastor Bismark. The second, is Calvary Chapel Palabek, which is only about 30 kilometers south of the South Sudanese border, and is Pastored by Pastor Alfred.
(1) teaching at Peter and Bismark's Church in Kitgum. Bismark is translating. (2) Pastor Alfred's Church in Palabek. (3) Alfred and Myself.
It Has been incredibly encouraging to see the homes and the churches of these pastors who have been a part of the school for over two years. The pastors are committed and humble men, who have a deep love for the Lord, and love for their congregations, they teach the whole council of God, and stand on His Word; this is reflected in their congregation which are full of solid and genuine, men, women, and families. Please pray for our pastors, many of them face opposition from the community, and make significant personal sacrifice for the sake of the Gospel. Also, this has been a very unusually dry year for Northern Uganda, there was supposed to be a rainy season in August and September, but there was almost no rain at all. Many of the pastor in the school, as well as the majority of the community rely on the rain for their food and livelihood. If rain fails to fall this year it could mean serious famine in the next. Please pray that God would send rain... or to put it another way, Please bless the rains down in Africa!
Thank you for reading, praying, and supporting financially!
God Bless,
Luke Buescher.
