Fall Household Toxic Materials & Electronics Drop-off Event

The Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission is partnering with the City of Cedar Falls to sponsor another residential hazardous materials and electronics recycling drop-off event. This event is open to ALL Black Hawk County residents to get rid of approved items from their homes and garages. Some fees may apply. Exact CASH only.

This drop-off will be held (rain or shine) on Saturday, September 22nd from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Cedar Falls Public Works Complex (2200 Technology Parkway). Volunteers will unload your items for you. For safety reasons, you must stay in your vehicle.

Not Accepted:
Paint, oil, antifreeze, alkaline batteries, appliances, mowers, grills, business-related waste, and more. Tips for managing these items can be found on our "FAQ" page.
Seeking Volunteers!
Approximately 40 volunteers (age 18+) are still needed to assist event participants. Lifting AND non-lifting jobs are available during two volunteer shifts: from 7:45 AM - 2:00 PM or from 7:45 AM - 12:15 PM. Click on the "Learn about Volunteering" button for more information!
