September News
We can barely believe that summer is already coming to a close! We'll be enjoying as many Cold Brew and NITRObrew coffees as we can (on tap at Open Eye Cafe!), while getting some exciting projects off the ground in September.
First and foremost, CCR President Scott Conary is gearing up for the Cup of Excellence in Brazil over September and October where he'll be overseeing both the Pre-Selection and National Selection judging. We've always seen amazing coffees come out of this competition in the past, and we're excited to see what the producers will bring to the table this year. We're also excited to be rolling out our new and improved Coffee Subscription Service! You can now choose from a larger selection of individual coffees AND manage your subscription online. See a different coffee you'd like to try? It's an easy switch. Heading out of town and need to skip a month? You can manage your delivery frequency with a click of a button. You decide the amount and monthly frequency you want.

Carrboro Coffee Collaborates

Come celebrate 30 years of Townsend Bertram & Co. and try our special TB&C collaboration coffee on Saturday, September 22nd! You can taste the signature TB&C 30th Anniversary Roast & watch us roast the coffee live, all while listening to music from Ella Bertram and Katharine Whalen from the Squirrel Nut Zippers. Enjoy free custom TB&C beer from Steel String and custom TB&C kombucha from Boro Beverage. Feel free to bring your kids, as this is a kid friendly event!

Fall Bazaar in Carrboro
Come check out the Fall Bazaar in Carrboro on Saturday, September 9th! More than 30 talented local makers will feature their handmade crafts, and you can also try delicious food and drinks from a variety of local businesses, including Carrboro Coffee Roasters. The Bazaar is a kid-friendly, dog-friendly, free event on the Carrboro Town Commons from 12-5 p.m. For more information, click here.

Farm to Fork Pop-Up with Snap Pea
We love supporting the Farm to Fork Picnic as a beverage partner every year, and we were excited to be a part of their upcoming Pop-Up Dinner on September 16th with Jacob Boem of Snap Pea Underground & Catering! LocalFest
Celebrate local agriculture, sustainable economy, arts, and culture at LocalFest on Saturday, September 29th at Blackwood Farms in Hillsborough. Activities will include music, crafts, demonstration kitchen, kids activities, beer gardens, and food trucks; and all proceeds will go to Breeze Farm! We will be there sampling out our coffee hot & iced!

We'll be spending International Coffee Day at the 3rd Annual Asheville Coffee Expo! Join us on September 29th, for this free event celebrating all things coffee. We will be serving pourover coffee, NITRObrew, iced cold brew and will have a live roasting demo! Learn more here.

Sip + Savor
We're thrilled to be the Official Coffee Partner of this year's Sip + Savor at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) on Sunday, October 14th from 4-7 pm. More than 30 Triangle Restaurants will be paired with world-class wines, and we'll be serving all of your favorite Direct Relationship coffees both as pourover and as NITRObrew! Featured Coffee: Finca El Aguacate

Carrboro Coffee Roasters is saddened to learn that we recently lost a long-term Direct Relationship farmer and member of our own family, Tomas Sosa Calderon. To honor his legacy, with every purchase of Finca El Aguacate coffee, we are donating a percentage of sales to his family so they can continue producing world-class coffee on their farm in Comayaugua. Funds will go to build new drying beds for next years harvest with an eye towards future programs in their community.
Finca El Aguacate is a past winner of the Good Food Award and the Cup of Excellence. It is known for its orange, floral aroma and subtle apricot acidity. The coffee is available at Open Eye Café, Caffe Driade, Weaver Street Market, select cafes, and restaurants who carry Carrboro coffee and online at our shop.
