Barrie Digest  |  September 2018

Back to school means busier streets

With students heading back to school, drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay attention as the streets will be busier with little pedestrians. The City works year-round to ensure the safe movement of motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users throughout Barrie. Traffic control measures include speed limits, traffic calming, traffic signals & signs, and traffic monitoring.

View from above: Barrie's Waterfront, 2018

Barrie’s waterfront has seen some changes in recent years: From the 2015 realignment of Lakeshore Drive, to the 2017 completion of Centennial Park improvements and opening of Military Heritage Park, to the June 2018 opening of Meridian Place and Memorial Square, a space connecting Barrie’s downtown with its beautiful waterfront. And that‘s not all: watch this view from above!
