Hello!
Welcome to our September newsletter. We are pleased to announce that following our interim election we now have 9 members on the council. We are still slightly under strength, so please do come along to a meeting if you would like to get involved. You don't have to be a member to participate. Our next meeting is on Tuesday 4th September at the usual place and time, 6.30pm, St Charles Church Hall, 1 Kelvinside Gardens, G20 6BG.
Our next community cleanup has been scheduled for Sunday 16th September, 10.30am–12.30pm, in the Oban Passage area. (You don't have to do 2 hours: any time you can spare will be appreciated.) We'll provide litter-pickers, binbags and other equipment (feel free to bring your own gardening gloves if you have them). We'll have a break halfway through for a chat over a cuppa, and we'll arrange for the uplift of the collected litter.
One other date for you: Glasgow City Council is having a public consultation till 4th October on whether nightclubs and other late-night premises in the city centre should be allowed to open till 4am. In connection with this the City Council Licensing Board is holding a drop-in engagement session at Hillhead Library for members of the public, community representatives, the licensed trade and anyone with an interest in licensing policy: Wednesday 5th September, 6pm – 8pm. Full background and details of how to respond to the consultation are available online.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you think might be interested. You can unsubscribe from our list at any time: see link at the bottom of the page.
Thank you for reading. Please get in touch with your comments and suggestions!
Best wishes
