 The Solarize Albany Campaign
for a Renewable Energy Future

Submitted by William Reinhardt of Solarize Albany
Emerging technologies are the focus of the 2018 and 2019 Solarize Albany campaigns. Research, technology and innovation continue to drive down the cost of solar and other renewable energies.

The core of the Solarize Albany campaign is the emerging technology of solar power production. Solar panels continue to improve in terms of maximum output capacity, (expressed as watts/panel.) At the same time, inverter technology developments have enabled individual panels to optimize production. (This is expressed as watt-hours.) Individual panels are able to efficiently produce energy even if adjacent panels have reduced production due to shading or temporary snow cover.
Solarize Albany has partnered with Apex Solar Power to offer a bulk purchase discounted price of $2.75/Watt for a roof mounted system. We believe this system will give customers the best value for their investments. When sized appropriately to a home’s electricity consumption, solar power at this price point will give a homeowner a six or seven year payback while also increasing the property value of the home about equal to the cost of the solar system.

For more information, visit the Solarize Albany booth at the Delmar Farmers Market and continue to read the market newsletter for updates and information on renewable energy options.
