He pānui tēnei i ngā whakarite ki runga i tō tātou tauheke pāpā a Uncle Tiki Raumati kātahi nei ka riro.

Uncle Tiki will come to Urenui marae at 3pm Friday 31 Aug.

His final service will be at 1.30pm Monday 3 September at St Joseph’s Church New Plymouth.

As there were more nominations received than vacancies, an election will be held by postal and internet voting to determine the Trustees.

Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship and the Suzanne Spencer Māori Scholarship

Scholarships

The Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship and Suzanne Spencer Memorial Māori Scholarship are offered to Māori tauira studying towards a qualification in accounting, who are in their second or subsequent year of study. The scholarship will provide a level of financial support to help support our tauira on their education journey and to develop their skills in accounting and encourage others to undertake accounting as a profession.

Recipients of both scholarships must have values that clearly align to the values of both NKMoA and CA ANZ and include a statement to this effect.

Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship
$5,000 ($2,500 p.a. over 2 years)

Suzanne Spencer Memorial Māori Scholarship
$6,000 ($3,000 p.a. over 2 years)

The 2018 round of scholarships will be opened and made available to applicants with the following key dates:

Skills and experience
You know your stuff.
You’ve got a relevant tertiary qualification and three years’ experience in youth or community development, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
You are proactive and highly self-motivated, taking initiative at every step.
You have a demonstrated ability to mentor and coach others.
You create innovative youth creative programmes and events (live sound production experience is an advantage).
You’re an experienced networker and skilled in managing stakeholder relationships.
You've got experience and ability in managing and keeping to budgets.
You identify with our Christian motivation and ethic, and our commitment to a journey of biculturalism and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
You’re looking to dive into a mission-oriented, all-encompassing dream.
You tick the boxes on our people values (seriously, read them, they're very important to us).
Oh, and you’ve got a current clean drivers license (you'll be supplied with a car so you'll kinda need to be able to drive it).

Venture Taranaki is pleased to announce that the 2019 Participatory Science Platform funding round is now open!

The Participatory Science Platform (PSP) supports community-driven projects which are scientifically robust, educationally valuable, and focused on locally relevant research.

Grants of up to $20,000 are available to support community based scientific and technology research.

Coastal Hazards & Sea Level Rise - Preparing for Change

Climate change is expected to increase the risk of coastal hazards around NZ as sea level rises. Join us to get the latest update on sea level rise science and a new approach to support coastal communities prepare for long term change.

As part of the Taranaki Sustainable Backyards Trail, Te Māra Hapori ki Parihaka (the Parihaka Community Garden) invites you all to enjoy the māra, participate in working bees and tours of the gardens and the food forest.

The garden and food forest support the 3 Marae and community as well as providing a peaceful place to work together, fulfilling the legacy of Tohu Kākahi and Te Whiti o Rongomai of looking after one another and building positive relationships.

Regular working bees are held during the year, including Puanga, spring planting and autumn harvest.

E rua tau ruru; e rua tau wehe; e rua tau mutu; e rua tau kai. Two seasons of storms; two seasons of scarcity; two seasons of crop failure; two seasons of plenty – a proverb about perseverance.
