Annual Meeting
After our service last Sunday the 26th August we held our annual meeting.  If you missed the meeting and never received a copy of the reports please contact me and I can I either print you a copy or electronically send the reports to you. Of note at the meeting we passed two resolutions both relating to the potential sale of the St Paul’s Stanley Church & Hall. The first was to state that we would not be applying for an exemption from selling the building, the second was to effectively give permission for the Diocesan lawyers to rewrite any trusts attached to the site so that it can be potentially sold.

The meeting was well attended and I am thankful for all who did attend especially those who offered questions and comments that led to some helpful discussion.

Building Upgrades
Part of why you want to grab a copy of the annual reports is so you can have a read over what the plans are for the building. I would love to hear any ideas you have and I hope by giving your feedback we can create a space that can be best used to the glory of God.

Bishop’s Training Event
This month in Hobart will be the third annual state wide training day this year titled ‘making disciples every day’. The previous two of these have been well worth the drive down (speak to Ian & Annette House who attended last year) and if you are thinking you need to make a trip to Hobart sometime soon it would be well worth timing it to be there for this event (or it would just be well worth making a trip to Hobart anyway to attend!).

It will be on Saturday 22nd September at the Hutchins School. See www.bishopstrainingevent.com or the flyers in the foyer for more details.

Anglican Future Conference
I will be attending the Anglican Future Conference in Melbourne during the first week of September. According to the blurb on their website the conference is to come together to encourage one another in a Biblical and Christ-centred faith and to consider the future of the Anglican Church in Australia.
Basically it’s a once every three years conference that the Bishop has strongly encouraged ministers to attend (it might have something to do with the fact he is one of the organisers of it). The practical information is that I will be away from Wednesday 5th and be getting home the night of Saturday 8th. I will be contactable on my mobile.
