Treasures new and old
Jesus said, 'Every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.' As we stand on the threshold of September and a new beginning at St Mary's and All Saints', this email comes to update you on Church Family news, and what treasures we have in the coming season - treasures new and old.
First things first: we'd love to see you and yours this Sunday! Join us for the Holy Eucharist at 8am, 10am or (at Besthorpe) 11.30am. At the 10am Parish Eucharist the choir will return after its August break. Celebrate with us at the Lord's Service on the Lord's Day. The day closes with Evensong at 6.30pm. We look forward to seeing you!

Children and young people are a valued part of our Church Family. Sunday Club meets again for a new term THIS SUNDAY during the 10am Parish Eucharist. All children aged 3 and over are warmly invited. For babies and little ones there's a creche. We'd be really pleased to see you.
Children aged 6 and over are welcome in the Choir. They rehearse on Friday evenings in term time from 6.30pm and sing for some Sunday services. Rehearsals begin next Friday. Contact Ben Miller for more details.
Messy Church next meets on Wednesday 19 September from 3.45 to 5.30pm in St Mary's: after-school craft activities, refreshments and informal worship for children and families.
Friday Fun Club is our monthly club for children in Key Stages 2 and 3. The members devise their own programme which includes cookery, games, socialising and learning together. The first session of the new term is on Friday 21 September at 4.30pm.

This Thursday, 6 September, we launch ‘Drop-in & Play’: 9.15 to 11.30am on Thursdays in St Mary's Hall, with activities for pre-school children, coffee and cake, a family atmosphere and a welcome for all. People can come all morning or for part of it.
Volunteers are still needed to join a monthly rota: sign up at the back of church or email us if you can spare one Thursday morning a month either to look after the children or to serve refreshments. Thanks to all whose energy and commitment makes this new venture possible. Pray for God’s blessing on it.

We're looking forward to Attleborough’s PATRONAL FESTIVAL a week on Sunday (9 September), when we give thanks for the Holy Mother of Jesus and join our prayers with hers for our church and parish. It's a day of rejoicing for us all.
At the 10am Parish Eucharist we’re pleased to welcome the Very Revd Jane Hedges, Dean of Norwich, as our guest preacher. There’ll be glorious music including Elgar's Ave Maria and Stanford's Te Deum laudamus in B flat. Buck's Fizz and coffee will be served afterwards, and there'll be children's activities during the service.
Following drinks, there's the Patronal Festival Lunch in the Church Hall: a two course Sunday lunch plus a glass of wine. Tickets cost £8 (under-16s £4) and can be bought from the Church Office (01953 454977) or email Pat. We very much hope to see you there as we celebrate together.
