ASEAN Mayors Forum Receives Accreditation from ASEAN

THE creation of a stronger community can only be achieved if people in the community are given enabling environment to grow, unite, and cooperate. It is this idea that has been carried out by ASEAN Mayors Forum (AMF), an initially bienially held forum for leaders within Southeast Asia sub-region to stimulate cooperation and expand network for the creation of ONE ASEAN Community.

Local Governments Role in Localising SDGs at the ASEAN Symposium

ASEAN, in coordination with UNDP and China, held a Symposium on Localising the SDGs and Realising Poverty Eradication in Cambodia last August 20-21, 2018. The symposium brought together senior government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives from ASEAN Member States and reinvigorated the efforts taken by governments in Southeast Asia in localising the global agenda. It also explored ways of optimising ASEAN Vision 2025 in the implementation of SDGs.

Localising SDGs through Local Innovation in Indonesia

NATIONAL TRAINING
 

 

ON 28-29 August 2018, UCLG ASPAC and Association of Indonesian Municipalities (APEKSI), supported by European Union, held a national level training on localising SDGs with the theme “Raising Awareness of SDGs at Local Level”. Attended by 26 local government representatives, the training focused on seven aspects: global agenda background on localizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), SDGs in Indonesia, Policy Coherence, Data, SDGs Enabling Environment, Multi Stakeholder Partnership for SDGs, and Local Government and Private Sector Coorperation on Localizing SDGS.
