Librarians' office hours


Need help with literature searching or access to The TMC Library's resources? Just drop by during office hours and speak to a liaison librarian. The librarians are available for onsite every week during scheduled times at the following locations:


Baylor College of Medicine

Tuesdays: 1 PM - 3 PM 
Wednesdays: 1 PM - 3 PM
Location: The Education Resource Center, DeBakey building (6450 E Cullen St.)



UT School of Biomedical Informatics

Tuesdays: 1 PM - 5 PM
Location: Room 1410, University Center Tower (7000 Fannin)



UT Cizik School of Nursing 

Tuesdays: 2 PM - 4 PM
Wednesdays: 10 AM - 12 PM
Location: Room 623, School of Nursing building (6901 Bertner)

Our librarians provide instruction and training on database searching (ex: PubMed, CINAHL, Embase), evidence based practice, and citation management. If you are a faculty member or course coordinator and would like to request a class on library instruction from us, fill out this form. 
 
Access issues with Elsevier Cell Press titles, Science Direct, and Wiley
 
We have contacted the service providers and asked that they correct the issues as soon as possible. If you are having difficulty accessing full text articles from these journals/vendors, please try searching for the articles you need via the journal list. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. 

Friends of the Library Fundraising Event


The Friends of the TMC Library will host its annual book and author fundraiser on Friday, September 7, 2018, at The Cooley Center, from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. 

Dr. Kenneth Mattox will be the guest speaker and will discuss The History of Surgery in Houston, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Houston Surgical Society.  Dr. William Schull will be honored posthumously.  Dr. Bryant Boutwell will give the opening remarks. 

Tickets are $150 (event & book), $100 (event only), and $50 (student pricing).  Please contact sarah.keith@library.tmc.edu or 713-799-7108. 

Here are a few of the fantastic silent auction items that will be available at the fundraiser. We hope to see you then!
