Happy Fall Equinox!

I hope this email finds you happy and healthy during this changing of the seasons. The Equinox can be a transition into a time of letting go, and filling up our cup with things that serve us, to last the winter (and beyond!). I've been at the doTERRA convention for the past three days, so my cup is filled with inspiration!

In this week's newsletter, you'll find:

  • Journal: What I learned from Hugh Jackman on best business practices
  • Reading: Where I go online for inspiration on currently astrology happenings
  • Using Oils: How to practice yoga with essential oils
Have a great weekend!

In light,
Mollie

From my journal:
DoTERRA Convention inspiration a la Hugh Jackman

This past week, I attended doTERRA's Global Convention in Salt Lake City... one of my most FAVORITE weeks of the year. And on the final day, we got a surprise visit from Hugh Jackman. (Yes, THE Hugh Jackman.) One of the members of our executive team was interviewing him after he sung some ridiculously amazing songs from The Greatest Showman and Les Misérables, and they got to the topic of Hugh's coffee company. Did you know he started a Fair Trade coffee company? I didn't either!

This quotable came up when Hugh was talking about advice his dad gave him as a young kid: "Good business should be good for everyone. If it's not good for everyone, it's not good business." And just like yesterday's quote that I told you about, this one stuck with me. Having started three businesses myself, I recognized this is a huge through-line. It's a great way to sum up my why. Why I wake up every day and do what I do. If what I'm doing isn't good for everyone, then I shouldn't be doing it.

Nearly eight years ago, my husband and I filed the paperwork to take his idea — Riding On Insulin, action sports camps for kids with type 1 diabetes — and make it into a nonprofit corporation. A dream was brought to fruition, one that has given our family so much joy and abundance and likewise, brought abundance, joy and inspiration to the lives of hundreds of families living with this chronic disease around the world. While we charge families for our camps, we spend so much time fundraising and bringing on donors and sponsors so that we can also give over $10K annually in scholarship subsidies, never turning a family away from having a camp experience.

My doTERRA business also exemplifies one of my whys, which is global impact. I dream big, and I love travel, and I love helping people. Just like Riding On Insulin has served four countries, doTERRA serves over 46 countries around the world, too. It's an incredible company doing so much for local farmers and communities, while enabling a team of thousands of Wellness Advocates like me to help educated over 6 million people around the world using highest quality essential oils. All the while, I get to build my business with some of the kindest, smartest, inspiring women I know.

And then Yoga Hive. I envision a world where entrepreneurs are supported and successful in launching yoga studios in small towns. I envision a world where community members in every small town have access to mindful movement and meditation. We offer a Pay It Forward program that reduces the cost of a monthly membership to those who cannot afford the $88/month rate. We occasionally offer free classes, and we offer three $5 classes per week in the valley, and at our sister studio in Colorado. But to be perfectly honest? I realize there is more I can do with this brainchild of mine. There's more I can do to TRULY create a culture of giving back as doTERRA and Riding On Insulin have done — helping bring mindful movement to more people in America, and around the world. So how does someone like me with a big dream start taking the first step?

Not going to lie. I HAVE NO IDEA. But instead of getting overwhelming in the "not knowing," I decided to take baby steps, and be open to the possibility of learning my next steps (Oh, and Universe? While we're at it, please make my next steps VERY obvious, THANKYOUVERYMUCH. Love, Mollie). I bought YogaHiveFoundation.org (and the .com!) and I'm clearing some time in the next month to journal and meditate on next moves. In her incredible online business school program, B-School, Marie Forleo also talks a lot about Your why and the concept of giving back, and when I took the program this past winter, I skimmed over the Giving Back part because I figured I was doing all I could muster.

But there's always more work to be done, and if we don't dream bigger, and believe in the possibilities, we stay exactly where we are.

In the meantime, I'll just be putting plenty of Lavender on to keep calm and collected, and continue walking this path of possibilities. I hope this email finds you able to do the same!

Tip from The Oil Hive:
Yoga and Essential Oils!

Yoga and essential oils might be the best combo in the world (if you ask me!). But exactly where do we start when working to incorporate the oils into our regular practice? Here are three great options for getting started:

1. Use the Yoga Oils: doTERRA has made it easy for us! The doTERRA Yoga Collection has three oils that are the perfect companions for all parts of a yoga practice. Anchor (for grounding), Align (for centering), and Arise (for awakening) all make it obvious for what to use when. Depending on how you're feeling, or how you WANT to feel, use the oil that corresponds to that!

2. Use oils you have! If buying a yoga collection isn't in the cards yet, use the oils you do have! Balance is an incredible blend for grounding. Citrus oils of all kinds can uplift our spirits, and we can find peace and calm with Lavender and/or Frankincense.

3. Close your eyes, ask the Universe what you need today, and pick an oil out of your stash! This is one of my favorite ways to let the universe guide me to an oil I need. I pick the oil, give it a sniff, research it in my books or on Google, and then I practice, creating an intention around that oil for my day.

PS—If you aren't a member yet and want to give any of these a try, let me know and I'd love to send you a few samples!

"[The equinox] is a time of conscious selfhood, a time when we celebrate the building and strengthening of our inner life.

In many cultures, the autumn time marks the beginning of a new year. The forces of nature are transiting with the autumnal equinox, as the relationship of light and darkness changes in the world around us.”
