Newsletter - September 2018

State Deputy, Paul Zielinksi

would like to remind all Knights that Supreme's new Faith in Action model has certain new requirements ...  Promoting and sending a large contingent from your Council & Parish to a Catholic Men’s Conference can be a “Spiritual Reflection Program.” ... Check out the many new membership growth and officer training incentives detailed on our website ... attendance for certain council officers is required at one of the Regional Leadership Meetings (Sept 15/22) ... Pray and ask our Lord to make us better men, husbands, and fathers to build up our families, Parishes, and His Church.  Pray daily for all our Priests and Bishops.  Pray for our country; our people, civil leaders, judges, police, and military.   (See the COMPLETE message with all the gaps filled in HERE on his State Deputy webpage.)

Immediate Past State Deputy, Marty McCoy

"As your Immediate Past State Deputy, and current Gibault Chairman of the Board of directors, I felt compelled to post a note of thanks to EVERY MEMBER in the jurisdiction of Indiana Knights of Columbus for their efforts during my term as your elected State Deputy, and years serving as your State Officer.  I have just recently returned from the National Knights of Columbus Convention" ...  Attending your regional meeting is very important, it will be a time to address any questions that have come up.  You can check the schedule of upcoming meetings HERE or on the State's Training webpage . . . All Grand Knights are expected to meet with their officers and complete the planner, scheduling Faith In Action events and activities for the year.  "Consecration to the Holy Family" is one of the four required activities and we are asking all councils to participate in this consecration this first quarter.  The next required program which should be promoted in the fall is "Helping Hands" under the community category . . . As we approach Christmas season, . . .  Read COMPLETE PD message HERE

Family Director

If we can make a Catholic man a Great Catholic Gentlemen, then we should should also help him with making a his Family a Great Catholic Family ... Have you scheduled some of your meetings to coincide with the Family? If not, you still have sometime to get with your Priest to have a Prayer night. Start planning your Christmas activities now before everyone’s calendar gets filled. Order and Schedule “Keep Christ in Christmas” functions and think outside of the crib! . . . Read More...

Community Director

I am pleased that 49 activities were reported by 27 councils in the first two months... Approximately one third of the 49 could be considered “Helping Hands” programs for the new model.  I am hoping that many councils will sponsor a Soccer Challenge and report that recommended activity in September... seven councils have reported blood drives and have collected 226 units of blood across the state.  There have also been a number of Tootsie Roll Drives conducted... Also, please remember to be in compliance with the SAFE Environment program to work with youth at both the Supreme level as well as your Diocesan requirements.   Read More...

We are off to a good start for Membership growth and Membership retention. (Check out the leaders on our Incentives page!) . . . Every event you sponsor or just participate in should be a Recruitment event as well . . . Retention starts the day your Council brings in a new Member. They joined for a reason and it's your responsibility to see that that new Brother gets engaged in the Council and its goings on. If you don’t already have a email group for all in your Council I would suggest it is worth the time to . . .   Read More...

The most astounding results produced by you brother Knights are the 26 ultrasound machines that you have purchased and donated to some of the 90 Pregnant Care Centers throughout our state...These machines have saved over 7,000 babies from being murdered. In addition, more than 15,000 other women went to these PCCs ... to receive ultrasound scans and other help during this difficult time. Some of those babies that were saved at the beginning of the State Ultrasound Project are now 9 year-olds, 8 year-olds, 7 year olds and such, playing, laughing and attending school.
