Welcome September!

We bid a fond farewell to an amazing August that brought an abundance of joyful activities, new learning, and connecting with Spirit. Thank you to our August speakers, Rev. Dr. Julia Kyle, Paul Schaffer, DC, our ISF attendees and Spiritual Medium, Austyn Wells who also enlightened, and lovingly mentored us in the All Day Mediumship Intensive Workshop that she presented. We are deeply grateful to Annie Dahlgren who donated an Evening of Music and Mediumship, with her glorious gifts of original songs and music, to our mediums who brought greetings from our loved ones in Spirit, to Paul Schaffer who constructed a musical “platform” and to all who gathered for a truly joyous event. Heartfelt thanks to all who served and made our August Mediums’ Day one of love, healing and connection to the Spirit World.

We look forward to a spectacular September! This month we are delighted to welcome back to Santa Barbara, Medium Hollister Rand! On Friday, September 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Hollister will present “Messages From Loved Ones in Spirit.” Please join us to share in this very special evening where a number of audience members will receive messages from loved ones in Spirit. There will also be time to ask questions about communicating with spirit and life on the other side. $35 online (https://sbhollister.eventbrite.com) or $45 at the door. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. (See flyer for all the details.) We are honored that Hollister will serve as our speaker and message greeter on September 16 at our Sunday church service.

The Church of the Comforter will welcome for the first time, Vondie Lozano, M.Div., PhD., CHt who will speak at our church on September 9. Vondie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and former Psychology Professor, and a Newton Institute Certified Life Between Lives® Hypnotherapist. On Saturday, Sept. 22, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, Vondie will present the workshop: “Visit a Past Life and Meet Your Spirit Guide,” helping us discover how hypnosis can help us access our soul’s journey through the afterlife. $35 in advance (http://lovebetweenlives.com/plr-workshops) or $45 at the door. We happily rejoice in our returning speakers in September, our very dear friends, the Rev. Dr. Julia Kyle this Sunday, Sept 2; Tracey Bolton, CM on Sunday, Sept. 23; and Paul Schaffer, DC on Sept. 30.

It has been a very busy and active time for us! Those of us who were so fortunate to attend the week-long ISF (International Spiritualist Federation) Conference at the Stony Point Center in New York were blessed with being immersed in learning and connecting with Spiritualists from around the globe. At the end of this month, Pauline Coleman, Eva Vega, Lynda Lauts and I will be serving as your elected delegates to attend our national organization’s, NSAC, Annual Convention. We will be flying to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where the convention will be held this year. We look forward to meeting with some of our fellow members from around the nation to do the business of representing our various churches.

In closing, it is a sincere honor to announce that Lynda Lauts, LM, CM has recently been awarded the certification of Commissioned Spiritualist Healer. Congratulations, Lynda! And deepest gratitude, to all of you who love our church and so generously share your unique spirits, creativity and individual blessings.
