There are lots of great reasons to go to Red Sky Stage in September.
Our schedule this month is packed full of concerts and other events with talent from right here in Northern Michigan, down state and out of state hometowns from Chicago to Santa Barbara and a wide assortment of genres including blues, hip-hop, country, big band swing, synth-pop, folk and poetry. Blair Miller, from Traverse City, is an enigmatic blues artist who leans heavily on Delta Blues and Roots interpretations. His CD Blair Miller At the Depot has been getting radio air time. In August 2017 he had the honor of opening the Ann Arbor Blues Festival.
Miller picked up a steel resonator guitar and a slide and started working on playing the blues of the Mississippi Delta.. Blair Miller is a confirmed bluesman

The Jim Stout Band has become a fan favorite in the lower Michigan music scene. The band satisfies everyone with music that crosses genres from bluegrass to country and rock to folk, with an emphasis on vocal harmonies. The band consists of multi-instrumentalist Jim Stout, bassist Peter Fair and Jim's wife Laurie Stout on vocals and guitar.

Northern Michigan's premier concert and dance big band presents its regular monthly night of music and dancing on our 1,000 square foot dance floor.
The Up North Big Band Is comprised of 19 talented musicians from across Northern Michigan, who came together to preserve the sounds of the big band era. The UNBB offers tight ensemble playing combined with exceptional solo features and live vocals.

He wrings out the sweetest melodies and deeper passions of both ‘60s Californian rock and Guthrie-era folk, and something so timely about the way he does it – there’s a reason Bernie Sanders asked him to sing at a rally in his sometimes-home of Santa Barbara.
Johnny Irion, whose family tree includes John Steinbeck and Woody Guthrie. has just wrapped up a solo record, Driving Friend.
