From the President’s Desk
September 1, 2018

Dear Members and friends,

On September 12, 2018 The National Spiritual Alliance of the United States of America celebrates 105 years of incorporation.   Our founders had a vision and we must continue that inclusive vision as a denomination of Spiritualism.  We must forge ahead into the future and not become complacent.  TNSA has made many beneficial steps and moved ahead in in the past several years under the leadership of president, Rev. John Midura and a very capable board of directors.
However, TNSA needs the support of all if its members regularly.  We face challenges ahead which requires the cooperation of the entire membership, including all our affiliated chartered churches, missions and ministries.   Our historic Thompson Temple requires repairs to its belfry, and roof and other important structural and maintenance work must be done before the snowy winter arrives.  Therefore, please consider additional financial assistance which is required in addition to the Sunday collections.   While, it is understandable that some may feel they may not be in a position to provide additional financial support, you may wish to ponder the idea carefully.  Every additional donation counts.   TNSA can also benefit from your time and talents.  If you are not able to give additional financial support, then you may consider to volunteer cleaning, gardening, grass mowing, plumbing electrical and other regular maintenance work at the Thompson Temple.
The law of circulation states that all things in the universe are always flowing in circulation, but always at a continuing expanding rate.  What you give, you will receive from a different source.   This natural law also works according to the law of cause and effect or karma where the universe returns in some way to you whatever you do.  Our principal of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY is at the very center of the act of giving in return to your church. As the principal states: Cause produces effect through thoughts, words, and deeds. We create ourselves and our circumstances and are alone responsible for our choices and creations.
I would also encourage all TNSA members and members of chartered churches and affiliates to take part in Tabor Thompson Institute classes and workshops to be offered. The classes will be taught online, in person classroom and also in blended (online and in person) formats The schedule will be posted for Fall classes soon.  The website is:  http://www.tabor-thompson-institute.org

Blessings to you,

Rev. Joe Giannini
President

What is "Stewardship"? Wikipedia defines it as "an ethic that embodies the responsible planning and management of resources. The concepts of stewardship can be applied to the environment and nature, economics, health, property, information, theology, etc.
The National Spiritual Alliance survives because of the stewardship offered by its members. Some call it a way of life, a joyful giving of one's time, one's talent, and one's treasure. There's no doubt about it. TNSA desperately needs more dedicated stewards. There's so much work to be done. We need carpenters, plumbers, and electricians to keep our building updated. We need housekeepers and landscapers, too, along with teachers, workshop presenters, healers, and mediums. We need each of our members to become good stewards of TNSA which provides exceptional spiritual food to everyone. Everyone's time and talent is needed and appreciated.
TNSA also needs help with treasure from our stewards. Donations of cash can be directed to be used for a number of special projects. Our building is in need of upgrades that can well approach $100,000 which would include belfry repairs, vinyl siding and insulation, kitchen upgrades, central heating and air conditioning, and handicap accessibility to all areas of the building. Some of our members have limited means, and some of our members have substantial means. In the next few weeks we will be embarking on the first of an annual fund drive in hopes of raising a substantial amount of funds. We need your help. Please be as generous as possible.
And lastly, please remember TNSA in your end of earthly life plans.
"Time & Talent for TNSA"

TNSA has survived since 1913 because of the generosity of its members and friends. It will need the same and more in the future. There are many things to do at the temple. We need people to:
  • Coordinate and plan our Medium/Psychic Fairs
  • Schedule monthly workshops
  • Present Spiritual Development circles
  • Perform periodic housekeeping and building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc..
  • Assist and volunteer on Board of Directors committees
  • Moderators for Sunday Services
  • Hospitality and after service social needs
Of course, all of these positions a completely performed by volunteers. The wonderful reward is satisfaction of serving this great organization, your fellow members, and Spirit. Currently, all of these positions are being performed by one or two individuals who truly need your help. Please, please offer your time and talent. Just make your intentions known toany of the board members. TNSA needs you now!
At the annual meeting in July of The National Spiritual Alliance,  Rev. Joe Giannini was elected to the position of President and Rev. Wendy Torres was elected  as Secretary. Re-elected for additional terms as directors were Rev. Beverly Rhodes and  Re. Leslie Matilainen.
