GGD Newsletter For September 1, 2018

The other day I came across a video which hilariously (at least to me) sums up how saving without investing isn’t enough to keep you financially secure. Remember, storing all your savings in a bank account without investing it will leave you broke in the end. You can check out the video here (Note: The video is in Thai with English subtitles).

In addition to watching funny videos this month, we also produced some great content, including an article about the most powerful investing tool at your disposal...Time and another article in our "The Basics" series which breaks down exactly how credit card interest is calculated.

We also had two of our articles featured on other websites this month. The first site featured our classic article on avoiding all taxes in early retirement while the second site shared this months post about taking advantage of time to maximize the growth of your investments (see above).

Monthly Financial Update (Full Breakdown):
This month we realized the financial goal we've been working toward all this time is slightly higher than it needs to be. As a result, we've made a significant shift in our projections.  Check out the full post for a more detailed explanation. For those only interested in the numbers, we increased our net worth by 3.35% and have now saved 48.9% of what we need to achieve financial independence.

If you read last months newsletter you know we were headed to Peru soon. Well, I'd like to officially say, hola from Peru! We'll be here for the next week or so, so it we may take a little longer than usual to respond to any comments or messages.
