Teacher Notes:
Just a little about our very exciting and busy week. On Monday we practiced our emergency drills, we learned what we should do to stay safe at school in the event of a fire, tornado, or earthquake. We will practice these drills once a month.
Ms. Cindy, a Librarian from the Lexington Public Library visited us on Wednesday and dropped off over 30 books for us to put in our lending library. Each child got to take home a book of their choice. Ms. Cindy will visit us every other Wednesday, and books can be returned and exchanged during that time, we just ask that each child only have 1 book out at a time. Students are given the opportunity to tell us a little about their book during morning meeting---it's never too early to start practicing our public speaking skills.
Our theme last week was "All About Me", students enjoyed comparing their heights (math/discovery skill), drawing self-portraits, and working on their name puzzles. The name puzzles were sent home on Friday; I'm sure your child was very proud to show you what they've been practicing!
