Connecting our community!

Message from the Mayor

Welcome to this month's e-newsletter. The East Fremantle Oval Precinct Revitalisation Project is well underway.  An information flyer outlining the community design forum program has been posted to all residents and you will see that there are five (5) open community sessions available.  I urge you to take the opportunity to be part of this important project.  Council is keen to hear the views of residents and community members to help us achieve a desirable and realistic outcome. Please see the article below for information.
Community members may also be aware that the Town has submitted Local Planning Scheme Amendment No.15 to the Western Australian Planning Commission – the amendment provides for development controls over the Royal George Hotel site.  Information and details about the Amendment for the site are  provided on the Town’s website.  Council is eager for the community to understand what has been proposed and a link to the website is provided below.
The contract for work on the Interpretive Nodes at John Tonkin Park has been awarded to Meta Maya, with work scheduled to commence later this month. Details on the works program are  available below.
I also urge community and sporting groups to apply now for a Community Assistance Grants as the deadline for this year's applications is coming up later this month.

Kind regards - Mayor Jim O'Neill
