Your summer update from the Rwandan Orphans Project
The Rwandan Orphans Project is having another great year helping Rwanda's vulnerable children, and it is all thanks to you!

First, our biggest news of 2018

Do you remember hearing about our Imizi Girls Home project? The one year pilot project, sponsored by the Segal Family Foundation, gave ROP the opportunity to achieve one of our biggest goals - creating a new program that would provide the same care, support and opportunities to former homeless girls that we have been providing to boys since our creation. During the pilot we housed 15 girls who our social workers found living on the streets of Kigali, and we also provided four scholarships to vulnerable girls from our community to help them attend high school. The pilot began in July of last year and ended back in June of this year.
Well we are very excited to tell you that the pilot was a huge success and the Imizi Girls Home has been funded for another year! In the coming months we will expand to house 20 vulnerable girls and we will add more than double the number of academic scholarships for girls for the 2019 school year. As you can imagine we are very proud of our staff and our girls for making the program an overwhelming success, and we are incredibly thankful to the Segal Family Foundation for making it all possible.

Our BIG 10 year anniversary celebration

In case you didn't already know ROP USA is celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year, and our annual event was the perfect place to celebrate all of the achievements we have made over the years with many of our supporters in San Diego, California, where ROP got its start in the U.S.
We are proud to tell you that by the end of the night ROP had raised a record amount of funds to support our programs in Rwanda. To all of you who supported our event - guests, donors, and volunteers - THANK YOU for making our anniversary celebration our biggest and best fundraising event yet!

Calling all ROP UK and US supporters!

Can you support our intrepid ROP supporters who are cycling 54 miles to raise much-needed funds for ROP? Our very own Sean Jones, ROP UK trustee Anna and her partner Ross are all cycling the London to Brighton bike-ride on September 16th to raise money for our kids. Think of them while they power up and down hills and cross your fingers for good weather!

You can sponsor Sean here and Anna and Ross here. And if you want to join them on the ride we still have places available! Contact jclover@rwandanorphansproject.org to find out more.

The Rwandan Orphans Project appreciates all of the support we get from our donors, partners and volunteers.

Thank you all who continue helping us provide a safe home, hope and opportunities to the more than 250 children who receive support at the Imizi Children's Center and the Imizi Girls Home.

If you'd like to know more about our programs please visit our website, and be sure to follow us on our Facebook page so you can see more regular updates from the ROP and Imizi.
