Pool Season Ends on Labor Day... or does it?
Just a reminder that the pool will open at 1PM on the weekdays now that Charlotte-Meck schools are now in session.
The pool will open at 10AM on Sat, Sun, and Mon (Labor Day) for the final weekend.
The pool's last day of operation with supervised lifeguards is Labor Day. Sept. 3rd.

However, if your pool fob is enabled with swim at your own risk (SAYOR) hours, you can take advantage of the pool until the pool company covers the pool with the winter tarp in late September. We will announce the date of the pool covering when we get word from our pool management company.

To enable SAYOR hours on your pool fob, you need to complete a waiver on the website and turn it into Superior Management company. You will receive an email when your pool fob is updated with SAYOR hours.

Our community could use someone like you!

Please consider stepping up to help out the neighborhood that you live in! Below is a sketch of what it is like to serve on the ARC, HOA Board, and Neighborhood Watch.

ARC Committee - Members receive requests from neighbors that want to make changes to their properties (adding a fence, an addition to their house, roofing changes). The members review the request and makes sure that it follows the guidelines of the community. The members vote whether to approve the request from the homeowner. Most of the work is done via email, but sometimes a ride-by is also in order to view the subject property.

HOA Board - Serving on the HOA board is a great way to give back to your community. Being a member of the board requires attending the HOA public meetings which are held about every two months and last about 90 minutes. These meetings are a way for homeowners to interact with the board to present concerns or ideas that may benefit the community.
Below are some common responsibilities for board members:
  • running the neighborhood and making sure that the homeowners dues are spent wisely
  • working closely with the management company which handles the day-to-day operations and financial accounting of the neighborhood
  • discussing ideas that could benefit the community, concerns from neighbors, or issues that may arise from special circumstances. There may be additional meetings for Board members to discuss community business as issues arise.
  • delegates tasks to each other to see that issues are addressed and taken care of in a timely manner.

The majority of the work is done through emails and the bi-monthly public meetings.  Each year an election is held, where any homeowner can run for a seats on the board. However, in most cases, there is usually not enough interest at the annual meeting to have a quorum  (~40 homeowners must attend) which is needed to have the election. The board can vote to appoint anyone to fill any vacancies between the election cycle. The board President and Vice-President will probably spend an average of 5 hours a week dealing with board related matters. The other positions usually require only 1-2 hours a week on average.

Neighborhood Watch
The neighborhood watch committee is a group of neighbors that keep a watchful eye out for suspicious activity in the neighborhood and communicate that with the other members of the group, the HOA board, and when necessary informing the entire community. The HOA board also communicates with the Neighborhood Watch members to inform them of any issues that are happening (ie. trespassers at the pool, vandalism, loitering, etc.) in the neighborhood.
